Beijing 北京
Also known as Peking, Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China and is the world’s third most populous city. Located in the North, it has been home to numerous dynasties and their respective emperors for the past 800 years. Beijing is one of the cities with the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, like the imperial Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. Not to forget the different sections of the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs are just a couple of hours away from the city centre. The charm of Beijing is not hidden in its architecture, but in its rambling hutongs, the nostalgic rickshaw rides, their delicious Peking Roasted Duck and the enjoyable night shows including the likes of the Peking Opera and Kungfu martial arts shows.
