Mutianyu Great Wall Ticket and Private Transfer from Beijing City or Airport.

The Great Wall is a breathtaking sight and an awesome experience all travellers must do when in Beijing. This hike is a little bit challenging as it ascends from the valley floor to the top rampart, but the reward of the spectacular view of the wall running for miles like a dragon over the mountainous terrain is an experience that you will never forget.

 

You can choose to be picked-up from your Beijing hotel (within 3rd ring road) or Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). Pick-up will be at 8:00 am at your hotel lobby or Airport Arrivals hall with a board with your name.

A Chinese-speaking driver will drive you to Mutianyu Great Wall which is located in Huairou County, 75 km north-east from the center of Beijing. If you wish, there is an option to hire an English-speaking tour guide to go with you to the Wall.

​

 

The Mutianyu Great Wall was constructed under the famous General Xu Da and is one of the best-preserved parts of the wall; serving as the main northern defense for the capital and imperial tombs during the times of ancient China.

​

 

Expected time to Mutianyu is usually around an hour and thirty minutes, all depending on local traffic and weather conditions. The round trip hike is 6 km and takes an estimated time of 2 hours. You can hike up the side of mountain to the wall or take a cable car (at your own expense). Then you can walk over the wall passing several watch towers for different views. On the way down, you can either walk, or take the cable car or toboggan (at your own expense).

The Wall is beautifully surrounded by dense woods and rich pastures that change colors with the seasons. The hike should be finished around 11:30 am and then you will be driven back to your hotel in Beijing city centre or Beijing Capital International Airport at around 2:00 pm.  Please note that all times are estimated and depends on traffic conditions and/or your airport pick up time.
