Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel in Shanghai city centre and be transferred to Shanghai airport to take a flight to Guilin. The guide will also help you to check-in at the airport counter. Once you arrive to Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, a new guide will pick you up at the exit lobby and you will be ready to start this private tour to visit the most spectacular landscape in China.

 

First you will drive out of the city to visit the Elephant Trunk Hill Park, situated at the west bank of Li River and regarded as the symbol of Guilin landscape. Originally named "Li Hill", "Yi Hill" and "Chenshui Hill", the hill is 3.6 hundred million years old. Resembling an elephant leisurely sucking water from the river with its long trunk, this hill is famous as Elephant Trunk Hill for hundreds of years. You can climb up the stairs to obtain a bird’s-eye view of Guilin.

 

Next you will enjoy a traditional Guilin style lunch including Guilin Rice noodles and other famous local snacks. In the afternoon, you will board a cruise to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Li river. Almost every bend in the river is a great opportunity to take pictures of spectacular limestone peaks, graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. If you’re very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants.

 

Then you will visit the Reed Flute Cave, a natural limestone cave with multicolored lighting. The cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it with which people make flutes out of. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations along this 240-meter-long cave.

 

After this last attraction, your guide will drop you off at Guilin airport to take the flight back to Shanghai. Once you arrive to Shanghai a new guide will pick you up at the exit lobby and transfer you to your hotel in Shanghai city centre.
