Xi'an 西安

Xi’an was once called Chang’an, an ancient and legendary city during the peak of the Silk Road; attracting emperors, writers and merchants from all over the world. The importance of the city can still be noticed by some of its most famous attractions like the 14 km City Walls, one of the best preserved in China, and the Great Mosque inside the Muslim Quarter, the largest in the country. But without any doubt the highlight of Xi’an is the Terracotta Warriors and Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, built to protect him in the after life, and still hiding many secrets. The 6,500 years old Neolithic settlement of Banpo Village, the Buddhist Big Goose Pagoda and the landmarks of the Bell & Drum Tower complete a set of wonders not to be missed in any trip to China.
